A call out was made last week during the CORA Meeting on Wednesday 2nd July, for financial support to allow individuals featuring in the Guardians of Hope Film, to attend the world premier coming up on World Ranger Day – 31st July in Sydney, Australia. Follow up discussions occurred at our ARCVic committee meeting and we would like to put the call out to support Rangers traveling to the premier!
Our friend Amanda Dudgeon from the Protected Area Workers Association NSW/ACT completed her journey to discover, connect and empower the rangers of Oceania.
Walking the Thin Green Line Oceania - Amanda undertook comprehensive expedition across 1 Year, 3 Oceans, 8 Nations and over 30,000km from World Ranger Day (31 July) 2022 to World Ranger Day 2023. This expedition has been documented in her soon to be released documentary – Guardians of Hope. More information can be found on her website: https://www.guardiansofhopefilm.com/ and Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/walkingthethingreenline. With follow up screenings in each capital city to be released soon!
Walking the Thin Green Line Oceania journey overview:

ARCVic committee meeting Ranadi, Fiji Ranger Association Rep – World Ranger Congress 2024.
ARCVic is working to support the Fiji Ranger Association, with the intent to create a twinning relationship between our groups. We would like to support Ranadi, who features in the film, to attend the screening. We know we need around $1000 to make this happen and are putting the call out to members of ARCVic any other people from Oceania who are able to help ASAP, to secure flights and travel details by THIS FRIDAY 11/07/25.
We will be looking at opportunities to support other featured Rangers to attend where funds allow. Any additional funds raised will be sent to Thin Green Line’s Oceania Fund, which will be used to support Ranger lead initiatives in Oceania as well as Rangers attending coming events such as the proposed Oceania Forum in 2026 and the next World Ranger Congress in Argentina 2027. The Protected Area Workers Association in NSW & ACT have already very generously agreed to donate the first $300 towards this goal! Thank You All!
If you are able to make a donation of any size, it will be truly appreciated. Funds can be sent directly to the bank details as follows:
